Your Puppy

To have healthy puppies you have to start out with healthy parents. They are fed Lifes Abundance premium dog food that is great for your dog’s health, skin, coat and energy level. Our parent dogs are given Nuvet Vitamin Supplement to provide themselves and their puppies with the proper nourishment to grow and thrive. Our dogs undergo appropriate health tests for their breed. We have DNA testing done which may include Degenerative Myelopathy, Ichthyosis (Golden Retreiver Type 1 & 2), Progressive Retinal Atrophy-Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration, Von Willebrand Disease, Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, GM2 Gangliosidosis (Poodle Type), Muscular Dystrophy (Golden Retriever Type), Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Golden Retriever Type) Sensory Ataxic Neuropathy. Plus, fun DNA tests for colors, patterns, etc. We have carefully researched our dogs’ lines before adding them to our program.

Your puppy will be born in our home. He or she will be exposed to normal household activities, noises, and smells. At three days old we start early neurological stimulation exercises. There are five exercises that your puppy will go through once a day. These exercises impact the neurological system by kicking it into action earlier than what would normally be expected. These exercises are going to help your puppy have better problem-solving abilities, improved cardiovascular improvement, stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, a higher tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. At the puppies appropriate age, visual and auditory stimulation are introduced. We also add toys and games. All the while your puppy will be loved and socialized by our family, friends, and other dogs.

When your puppy is between the ages of three and four weeks old, he or she will be given its first meal consisting of Lifes Abundance Premium Health Food that is ground up and warm water added to make a soupy consistency. Gradually less liquids are added until your puppy is eating solid kibble. When the puppies are offered their first meal they will also be given a larger living area with a potty area that they tend to learn to use pretty quickly. Puppies learn pretty quickly to potty away from where he or she eats and sleeps.

Around seven weeks of age your puppy will have a thorough health check with our veterinarian.

Between eight and nine weeks of age your puppy will be ready to go home to their forever home!
